Provenance and open questions
Codepoints and character names are read from the Unicode database; both
blocks have been stable since Unicode 6.1 (2012). Transliteration values
are copied from three published sign tables — Rilly & de Voogt 2012
(Table 1.1), REM I (2000, p. XVII) and Griffith 1912 (ASE 20, p. 11) —
one per profile; hover a profile button for the full reference.
Still open: no established transliteration value was found for
SYMBOL VIDJ and the logograms RMT and
IMN; how editions render the numeral and fraction signs is
unsettled, and this page gives digits; REM I introduces its space between
values for donors' names, and whether that holds across the corpus is
unverified; and its preface credits the system to Hintze, an attribution
that does not check out and is not being pursued for now. Details in
the README.
